First introduced as the unknown beauty of Slumdog Millionaire, Freida Pinto is steadily making waves in the film industry.She's also become a familiar face on the front row of fashion shows, with an understated elegance about her and her style.
But Freida doesn't seem too keen on being shoehorned into a particular stereotype.
Having been propelled to stardom in the 2008 romantic drama acting opposite real-life boyfriend Dev Patel, Freida has since filmed her role as a similar character in Woody Allen's You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.
So, what's the problem? "I keep playing the damsel in distress.
"But I'd like to kick some ass!" Atta girl.
The 'new' Freida is also shrugging off the nerves that used to plague her as a newcomer in the film industry, even when working with a directing legend like Woody Allen: "(You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger) was my third film, so I was worried I was the only one with a lot to learn."But when I met people like Anthony Hopkins who were feeling pretty nervous, I realised everyone is intimidated to work with a legend."
With her new-found attitude and ethereal beauty, we reckon Freida may become a legend in her own right.
